How often should I have my area rugs cleaned?
It depends on the usage of the rug, but about once a year for moderate to high traffic area rugs.
If your rug looks dirty you’ve waited to long.
Why are rugs not cleaned in the home?
There are a couple of reasons for this:

-All the dirt and debris, that is tracked onto your rug, settle deep into the fibers of the rug (think gravity).
In order to get all that grossness out of your rug, we submerge most rugs in a tub of water to loosen all that dirt,
making it possible to extract all that grossness out of the rug.
-At home methods can leave water and moisture in the rug, which could damage the floors underneath the rug.
-Rugs with natural dyes do tend to bleed color, which could stain the flooring, or the fringe on the rug.
At Culbertsons, not only do we have a 1200-gallon wash tub, but 1000 square foot dedicated drying room that accommodates all types of rugs. Rugs washed by us will be truly clean, soft to the touch and fibers won’t re-soil
at the rapid rate of an in-home cleaning. Money well spent!
Is area rug cleaning expensive?
Like everything in else in life, you get what you pay for. Culbertsons charges by the square foot, contact us for exact pricing information. At Culbertsons, we employ a variety of cleaning methods depending upon the size and make-up of the rug. This makes it so we can customize each clean to your specific rug.
Can Culbertsons repair my rug?
Short answer, YES!
When your rug comes in to be cleaned it will go through an inspection, at which time you will receive
an email with intake pictures, along with an estimate for
any repairs that need to be made.
Should I use Over-the-counter cleaners on my area rug?
Short Answer, NO, please don’t.
Many over-the-counter products set the stain, and because they are bleaching agents,
sometimes add to the stain themselves. Some of the most popular products,
such as Oxi-Clean cause the most damage.
Just use a towel to dab the area dry and give us a call!
Can Pet stains and odors be removed?
We can get the actual urine and vomit out no problem. BUT the pee or vomit,
could cause discoloration to the fiber itself. The homeowner should immediately spot clean with
1 part vinegar to 1 part cold water then blot with paper towels.
Why blot? Rubbing will crush the rug pile and lead to permanent damage.
Remember: In-home spot cleaning will never resolve the issue
but will buy time to get the rug to a professional area rug cleaner.
How safe are the products you use to clean customers rugs?
At Culbertsons, we are proud to say that we use the best products that are non-toxic to humans, animals, or plant life!
